My 1-day trip to Bhoramdev

So its been so long since I actually had an official vacation because I had big plans after my boards that we may actually go to Banaras or somewhere but Corona came at the exact bad time and caused havoc in our lives. We all were locked in our homes and I personally think that the students were the most affected emotionally and mentally because we lost our main window of social and outside exposure. At least for me I know it didn't really had an academic advantage as for the first time I found that I am mentally very fragile and its hard for me to focus in abnormal conditions so altogether 2020 was an unproductive year even non- academically i.e. no extracurriculars or a very happy; thrilling and exciting life. One thing was for sure that the teachers are terrible and there is no moral support. I had been so sensitive that even small problems looked so big to me as if it was the end of the world and I cant seem to focus beyond my past and future. I was in an eternal dilemma for what I should do or when, how and what will happen next. Now all I hope for is to have a general promotion and online exams till I enter class 12 and we will see what happens next.😂 I don't know if I deserve to be a doctor with my insincere and irresponsible behaviour or what will be my future but whatever it maybe I want to do my best this year and result will be in the hands of god. I dont want to run away but run towards, I want to face the challenges and difficulties that come along the way head on and progress as the time passes. Now I really wish to focus on my present and enjoy the things that happen around me because this was once my future and will be my past forever, I wish to shape it the way I imagined; the past cant be changed and the future cant be predicted we only live through our present once. But still I learned so many new things about life and about myself so cannot call it a total waste. With each passing day I wish to do something extraordinary.

With that being said we visited Bhoramdev Sanctuary and after a long time I was actually able to forget my troubles and enjoy other things around. According to my mother it wasn't my first visit and I went there twice when I was 6 months and 1 and half year old so basically I don't remember anything but it somehow felt familiar. So first we arrived the circuit house at Kabirdhaam, Kavardha around 10 am. It took us nearly 2 hours, then after we got fresh, a child protection officer came, he already had the main locations in mind and were our tour guide for the day.(Since my mother is a government officer she already made the prior arrangements over the phone since she was his senior officer when she was posted there.) First we visited Sarodha dam which was beautiful and clean. It is a source of water to the city through the canal system. The Maikals hill ranges are perfectly visible from that spot. Seeing the local children playing happily without a single worry it made me realize my worries are also not that big my fear and insecurities makes them big.

We also visited to places like Ramchua, Chherki Mahal, Madwa Mahal. I also came to know a Royal family still resides there and they own almost all the land there they also unofficially give the land to peasants.  You can easily spot the people of Baiga tribe wearing a pagdi and catch a nice glimpse of village life. The Raj Mahal is still grand and can be booked by the tourists for an official stay but the prices are very high. I realised that Chhattisgarh may not be a popular place of historical significance but there is a lot of natural and scenic places. It states many stories of its own origin which tells us about its tribes, culture and mythology. Since its less crowded its peaceful.

Then after visiting a few small temples we visited the Bhoramdev temple (Shiv temple) which was magnificent and sat down for the Abhishekh which filled us with a positive energy. Most temples in Chhattisgarh are centred around Lord Shiv and avatars of Devi Parvati as they are worshipped by the indigenous people and tribes. They originally worship nature as their one Supreme God and the related (similar) deities. The temples have unique stone carved scriptures depicting ancient art techniques, architecture and mythology. But I truly believe that there is a need of sensitizing people about how gravely doodling on walls damages and harms the beauty of these conserved monuments. My mother told me a legend that there at the top of the temple lives a white snake and if you are lucky enough to see it you are followed by good fortune. My mother was lucky to see it the previous time she visited but unfortunately it was not there this time. Snakes don't usually come out in winters. Then we went for a boat ride in Pushpa Sarovar which is in front of the temple. The water was exceptionally pure and clean. The local boat rider told us a story that there is a temple under the Sarovar which came to the surface when the water level went down many years ago that's why it is advised to remove shoes before going into the water.

We had lunch at a rest house then we visited Bhoramdev Sanctuary and considering my luck we were not able to see any animals and there was a lot of smoke and noise from the other cars but the scenery was mesmerising. I would like to recommend that its better to visit after 5 pm only then there are high chances of seeing animals but we went in the afternoon. We then headed to the Chilfi Ghati and visited Soopkhar rest house which is a British styled rest house, touched the border point of Kanha Kisli Madhya Pradesh and returned.

Our next destination was Peedha Ghat and Sarodha Dadar view point. The sunset view from there was amazing but I would like to give a warning that its a bit high, made of glass and the iron ankle shakes when you climb up and down but good for an adventure and excitement. Even the night view was wonderful as we rode our way back, I could see the Moon and the stars as the sky was clear. The wind was extremely cold. We came back at the circuit house and after we got fresh we visited a children's home and an adoption centre as my mother was requested to pay a visit. The children were so lovingly cute but deprived of affection. I hope they are adopted by good families and have a bright future. Unfortunately we didn't had enough time to visit the Sakhi centre so we prepared to return back to Raipur. We said our farewell to our tour guide for the day and he was so friendly and nice that we didn't got to worry about anything and requested us to visit them again soon. My mother was delighted to see that Kavardha has changed for good in many ways. Amarkantak (forest and wildlife), Jagdalpur chitrakoot waterfalls (Bastar is also famous for for its unique wood carved art) and stalactite and stalagmite caves of Dantewaada are some other great places to visit in Chhattisgarh.

It is always an advantage when I am travelling with my mother anywhere in Chhattisgarh since she has seen almost each and every place during her postings we are always heartily welcomed whenever we visit. She has visited so many places overall India thanks to her job and I have so much to catch up. Overall it was a nice and fun trip. I enjoyed a lot. I with my mother have also visited Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Mumbai, Orissa, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Meghalaya but that was a long time ago. Someday I also wish to visit Uttarakhand, Gujarat, West Bengal, and my mother's hometown Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Maybe next time.😀

I didn't expected myself to write a blog again since the previous one was a part of my holiday homework but since it got over 1000 views so my mother suggested that I should write it again even though I was not much confident. I write about travelling because I like it very much and wish to travel not only India but the whole world. I would like to say thanks to the readers for your precious time and reading my blog with patience. I still have many things to improve but if you continue to like my posts, I will continue writing them. 😊 Life continues! and should be filled with memorable moments. We live for the curiosity of our future.
